THE POWER OF VISION

Persistence in fulfilling one's life purpose comes from vision.

Seven Choices To Abundant Living

Nobody wakes up successful and happy. Many people think, "Well, if God wanted me healthy, I'd be healthy. If God wanted me financially prosperous, I'd be that way. God is in control." WHAT IS GOD IN CONTROL OF? He controls the laws of this universe. He does not control our DECISIONS! And our decisions create and control the majority of our circumstances.
Duet 30:19 says, "I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, you choose." I have found out that there are 7 keys (DECISIONS or CHOICES) that will bring you happiness and success.

1. Choose Obedience
Duet 28:1 says, "If you will harken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, ALL THESE BLESSINGS SHALL COME ON YOU AND OVERTAKE YOU!" This simple means doing what God has told you to do.

2. Choose Knowledge
Hos 4:6 says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." What we do not know can destroy us. God wants us to know. You have a right to the blessings of God. The Bible is an information manuel. It is literally the WINNERS DIGEST.

3. Choose Visualization
Joshua 1:8 & Psalms 1:1-3 says, "If you will meditate on what God has said, success and prosperity if yours." What ever happens in your mind will happen in time. (Prov 23:7) Whatever is good think on this. (Phil 4:8)

4. Choose Forgiveness
Forgiveness is available because of what Jesus did for us and forgiveness puts us in right standing with God. But, in Mark 11:25 Jesus said, "If you don't forgive others then God will not forgive you." Forgive not only other people but forgive yourself. This is just as important. There are people who have not forgiven themselves.

5. Choose Persistence
Galations 6:9 says, "Let us not grow weary in well doing for in due season WE SHALL REAP, IF WE FAINT NOT." Don't quit! At times you will feel like asking, why am I doing this anyway or you will feel like it's no use. Hang in there and don't quit!

6. Choose Sowing
Eph 6:8 says, "Whatever good thing I do for another, God is going to do for me." The blessing follows the blesser. Everything in this life is sowing and reaping, finances, love, mercy, forgiveness, etc, and every seed produces after it's own kind. What you make happen for others God will make happen for you.

7. Choose Praise
Psalms 22:3 says, "God inhabits the praises of His people. Psalms 16:11 says, "In His presence there is fullness of joy." And Nehemiah 1:8 says, "the joy of the Lord is our strength." When we begin to praise God something happens. I don't care how I feel, if you start saying, yes open your mouth and say God I love you, something loosens. Praise gets your mind off of you and onto God.

Jesus said, "I have come that YOU would have life and have it more abundantly." CHOOSE LIFE!

BAPTICOSTAL IS WHAT I AM

I was raised Southern Baptist, was born again at Wilkes Baptist Church in Rutledge Al. Backslided deep into sin as a teenager and into my twenties. But, as the wayward son Jesus mentioned, I returned home and I thank God for His unlimited mercy.

I so embrace my Baptist upbringing and I believe it has much to do with my passion to see all people come to Jesus. Just as KFC's main thing is the chicken, God's main thing is restoration of relationship for all mankind and it only comes through Jesus. KFC has other items to offer, the main thing is not the only thing. Jesus came not only to save unto eternal life but He came to give gifts unto men and His will concerning gifts has not changed because He is the same yesterday today and forever. (Eph 4:8 & Heb 13:8)

You see I have been healed of Hepatitis C which doctors said was impossible, taken from the dunghill to corporate America which the world said can't be done, and have flowed in the gifts of the Spirit which so many say aren't real or have passed away. They are real, they are not scary, goofy, or cooky. They are given to us for our profit, Glory to God! I challenge you today to read 1 Corinthians chapters 12,13, and 14. Go ahead and get some cole slaw, bake beans, and you know how good the biscuits are to go with your chicken. It makes the main thing so much better. "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren I would not have you ignorant." (1 Cor 12:1)

LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!

Psalms 119:15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

The word of God is called pre-cepts. Pre-means before, in front of. Cept-means an original idea. All original ideas and ways come from God because He is before all things. The word of God tells us that God can not lie. (Titus 1:2) The word of God also tells us that satan is the father of lies and if his lips are moving its a lie. (John 8:44)

De-ception happens when we listen to a lie in the place of an original idea. De-means to reduce, down, or remove. When we reduce the original idea, down play its importance, or remove it from our lives we give place to deception and mis-conception takes place. Mis-means to to hate. When we listen to the lies of the enemy in the place of the original idea we are saying we do not love the original idea.

But, when we give heed to the original idea, CON-CEPTION takes place. Con-means with, to join. When we trust and believe God's word the original idea we join ourselves with the word of God, CONCEPTION takes place and we give birth to the things of God and manifest His purpose in the earth. Refuse to listen to the liar and trust God today, HE IS SO FAITHFUL! And you will give birth to your miracle.

Before a woman can give birth to a child she must conceive. We all give birth to something in the earth whether it is good or bad. What determines what we give birth too Scott? It is the seeds we plant within our hearts. Jesus said in Mark 4 that the harvest we receive in life comes from the seed we sow in our hearts. The sower sows the WORD. (Mark 4:14)

CHOICES

My daughter Jillian is working on her debut album and the title is "Choose Life." Life is filled with alternatives, we are constantly bombarded with choices, and our preferences reveal who we are and what we value in life. In fact your life is the sum total of the decisions you make every day.

In 1 Cor 6:12 Paul said, "Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is beneficial." Just because something is not bad, does not mean that it is beneficial for you. For example, when you are traveling along a highway, there are dozens of exits you might take. Is there such a thing as a "bad" exit? No, they're all good, legitimate routes. Many of them lead to helpful services, such as hotels, restaurants, or gas stations. Therefore, is there anything that makes an exit "bad" for you? Yes, if it does not lead to your desired destination. The same is true for activities and people in your life. Ask yourself the tuff questions, are the things I do and people I associate with moving me away from my dream or closer to it?

There will always be a need for positive people in you life. We often underestimate others influence in our lives. If you want to be a success, don't keep company with those who aren't going anywhere in life. elevatechurchbhm.com

YOU HAVE A DREAM

The poor man, the rich man, the black man, the white man, every person has a dream in his heart. Your vision may already be clear to you, or it may still be buried somewhere deep in your heart, waiting to be discovered. Fulfilling this dream is what gives purpose and meaning to life. In other words, the very substance of life is for you to find God's purpose and fulfill it.

God has a dream and a vision for you that's supposed to carry you right out into eternity because that's what is pulling it. When you die, you're meant to leave this earth not on a pension but on a purpose. You need to make sure you can say at the end of your life, as Jesus did, "It is finished" (John 19:30) and not just, "I am retired," for your dream is much bigger than mere retirement. Every human being was created to accomplish something specific that no one else can accomplish. elevatechurchbhm.com

WHY DO I EXIST?

You must have a clear reason for your life, as Jesus did. Jesus said, "I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth." (John 18:37) Fulfilling your dream is what gives purpose and meaning to life. In other words, the very substance of life is for you to find God's purpose and fulfill it.

My purpose has become my passion. It wakes me up in the morning, and it keeps me going when I'm tired. It is an antidote to depression. It causes me to have joy in the midst of great opposition because I know that what God has given me to accomplish cannot be stopped by anyone. When you discover your vision, it will give you energy and passion. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might."

The vision in your heart is the spark that will enable you to pursue your dream because, unless you do so with all your enthusiasm and strength, it will not happen. I believe this scripture expresses a truth that most people miss: You accomplish only what you fight for. Again, if you are merely interested in your dream, it will never come to pass. However, if you are willing to put all your energy into it, then nobody can stop it from succeeding. YOUR FUTURE IS NOT AHEAD OF YOU, IT LIES WITHIN YOU. Is God Speaking To Us?

Yesterday we were speaking of the recent tragic events that have impacted so many of us either directly or indirectly and my friend said to me, "I believe God is trying to tell us something...." This statement got my attention very quickly, and to be honest in a not so good way. It grieves me to think that precious people of God are blaming God for something He did not do. After they said this I realized that many people have this kind of idea in their mind. But, what does the WORD OF GOD SAY?

1 Kings 19:11-13 (New Living Translation)

11 “Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a GENTEL WHISPER (Still small voice). 13 When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And A VOICE said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Did you read what the bible said? God was NOT in the wind, God was NOT in the earthquake, and God was NOT in the fire. God was in a still small VOICE. This is how he speaks to His children. God is a good God and does not, and I repeat does not bring confusion and destruction to speak to His COVENANT people. The key to my last statement is His covenant people. God is not a child abuser, the person behind the destruction is the devil. Jesus confirmed this in the book of John.

John 10:3-4 & 9-10 (NKJV)3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

Jesus the Good Shepherd

9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Jesus Himself said, the way he speaks to his sheep is by HIS VOICE. Then He said, "It is the thief (devil) who steals, who kills, and who destroys, not Jesus. HE SAID, I AM the GOOD SHEPHERD!" GOD IS A GOOD GOD. For years religion, human reasoning, and even insurance companies have blamed God for what the devil is doing. I am going to take the word of God and what Jesus said and expose the thief for who he really is, he is a thief, he is a killer, he destroyer. BUT JESUS GIVES LIFE AND GIVES IT MORE ABUNDANTLY.

I don't know about you, but I will continue to allow the Word of God to be the final authority in my life and let God be true and every man liar. (Romans 3:4) Even if they have a Post Hole Digger (PHD) attached to their name!
